Leslie Woods

Leslie Woods has worked as a swimming coach at the last 33 Swim Schools. After a brief career as a footballer at Millwall FC and 30 years in the Fire Service, Leslie took an interest in swimming after his daughter represented her county. He has coached over 30 Individual County Champions at the Ox and Bucks Championships and became involved in Kelly Swim School after a visit one Easter to see the facilities. Leslie met the man himself, Archie Brew, and was invited to coach the following summer. Leslie has been part of the team ever since – he’s not sure if it’s because of his experience or because he makes Archie feel younger, but they make an excellent team and he looks forward to many more Swim Schools.

Leslie now works for Virgin Active, teaching and coaching people of all ages and abilities. He really enjoys teaching swimmers with special needs and retired people who are learning to swim for the first time.
