Kelly College Swim School
Kelly College Swim School has established itself over the last 25 years as one of the best residential Swim Technique Schools in Great Britain. Aimed at club swimmers of all levels who wish to improve their stamina, technique and knowledge of swimming, our Swim School creates a fun and vibrant atmosphere for everyone involved.
Kelly College Swim School is run by a winning formula of some of the most experienced coaches around. They all have a passion for swimming and helping athletes achieve their goals. All of the coaches are trained by the UK National Governing Body the Amateur Swimming Association and there are always qualified First Aiders and Lifeguards on duty. Our Head Coach Archie Brew and Lead Coach Mike Best also mentor new coaches, helping them to climb the educational ladder, as part of our commitment to high quality swim coaching.
The week is based around a fun and varied programme of events including swimming (usually twice a day), flexibility, gym work, team games, galas, and some time for rest and relaxation. Many swimmers return every year, sometimes twice per year and enjoy catching up with the friends they have made at previous Kelly Swim Schools.
The athletes are split into ability groups during the day and the main focus is to build on the knowledge each child already has of swimming, helping them develop a sound basis for their swimming careers. In the evenings the emphasis changes as they are split into ‘colour’ groups for fun activities, flexibility or films. Usually by the end of each busy and varied day the swimmers value their sleep as an opportunity to recharge for the next day.
The week culminates in a Gala on the Saturday morning just before the athletes leave. It is a fast pace gala (not under ASA rules!!!), which has a real buzz about it. Parents are welcome to watch the fun – but they need to come early to get a good seat!
